sleepless...

It's midnight.

And the only reason I am up writing is because I can't even begin to sleep.

My little one is in bed next to me.  She's sleeping with me tonight.

It's been a rough night:

She caught her hand in our treadmill while it was moving.  Can I say, guilt?

We ran her to the urgent care a couple blocks from our house, after having our wonderful neighbor (a nurse) look at it.  The urgent care sent us to the ER.

She has deep, full-thickness friction burns on her middle and ring finger, right hand.

We go back to the hospital on Saturday morning to re-dress the wounds, and then we will be meeting with a plastic surgeon Monday to see what things need to be done.

My stomach is in knots.  I feel horrible.  Worse than horrible.

Sleep my little one.

My heart is so broken. Dont worry she doesn't beginto think it's your fault, she's just so glad that someone so special gets to take care of her.
I'll never forget when Skye was 6 months old. He just started crawling and crawled over to our floor heater and grabbed it. Blisters...lots of blister.
Love you.

Ahhhh, I hope her fingers do well! And that you get the help you need for them. And that you are able to sleep! Try to remember, accidents happen.

Oh Nat, that is so sad, I am so sorry for you both. Hang in there, things will work out. Give her loves and kisses from us and a hug to you too, I am the one who broke Ammon's leg, I know how you feel. She will always love you!! And so will I!!!

Mom just told me about this. I hope she is doing well, and that things go well with the plastic surgeon. Mom said she had all the nurses and doctors at the ER in love with her....such a sweetie even when in pain. Love you guys.

What a sweet little thing! Don't be so hard on yourself. It is not your fault. You are such a great mom and a great example of what I want to become. Good Luck!

Love,
Nicole

Poor little sweetheart! I am always worried about something like that happening while I'm on our eliptical. I hope she doesn't need any surgery!! Love your addition to your kitchen - very clever and very cute!! By the way, you are such a fabulous photographer - did you take classes or are just a natural? Either way, you're really, really good!

Oh my goodness, Nat. I just now read about this. I am so sorry for what you are both going through. I wish I had a magic wand to wash away your guilt. (The best wand is TIME and PRAYER.) Your guilt and pain is only a searing indication of your deep love and loyalty. You are such a beautiful person and mother. You will both get through this!
All my love and prayers....
