Summer, Part Three

Island Park

We had a wonderful family vacation to Island Park this year. Prior to staying in my sister-in-law Shelby's family's cabin, Bill, Porter, Evelyn and I went to Bill's family's condo at Island Park Village. We always stay in #50. This unit is Bill's mom's favorite. We had a great time at Mesa Falls, Big Springs and spent an entire day in Yellowstone National Park which is a family favorite. Bill even took Porter to the fishing hole that he grew up going to with his father as a young boy.




After a few days in the condo, we went to Shelby's cabin for lots of fun with cousins, playing in the water on Henry's Lake, a visit to Quake Lake, eating GOOD food, playing games and going to the candy shop in West Yellowstone. Raspberries and Cream fudge is always a treat that we love.

Summer, Part Two

Diamond Creek (also known as Porter's vacation of vacations)

It is tradition for our family to attend the Richard and Ruth Owens Reunion at Diamond Creek every summer. We try and always make sure that we can be there because this truly is the highlight of Porter's summer.

We had a particularly special time this year as we were able to plant some trees in memory of my Grandpa and my cousin Eric who have passed on. Many memories with both of them have been made here.

Summer, Part One

Our summer started out early with a trip to Boise at the end of May to watch my brother Bracken run at the State Track Meet. We traveled along with my sister Katie and her family and made a pit stop at Shoshone Falls in Twin Falls.



Our trip included a stay at the famous HOTEL JENSEN (my cousin Polly's house :), complete with a swimming pool, big screen t.v. and GREAT food including key lime cheesecake, clam chowder, homemade bread, waffles with fresh strawberries and many other delicious eats.



Porter always requests a trip to the state capitol when we go to Boise, so now it is tradition. It was under construction this time, so we only got to take pictures from the outside. And of course, the reason we went to Boise to begin with...........to go to Bronco Stadium and watch this stud:
